OPENspace 2015 Event – English Version

OPENspace 2015: Illuminate

OPENspace 2015 is a meeting place for the celebration and exploration of art, creativity, faith and existential questions.

It will take place 60 km from Copenhagen in Haslev, Denmark 29 June – 2 July.

It will be a time of

  • letting ourselves be illuminated by each other, by our Creator and by the beauty that surrounds us through concerts, talks, hanging out in the beautiful large garden, hands-on workshops (land art, theatre, writing and photography)
  • letting art shed new perspectives on the world around us where light and darkness intertwine

Murray Watts, our key speaker, has a long experience of writing for theatre, radio, TV and film (www.murraywatts.co.uk). He runs Freswick Castle (www.freswickcastle.com) and The Wayfarer Trust which seeks to enable artists of all disciplines to discover and develop their gifts and so deepen their impact on contemporary culture.

Emmaus – gallery and conference centre will provide delicious food as always, and to most participants of previous OPENspaces the atmosphere and the quality of the place has been an important part of the experience.

At the same time, the idea of OPENspace is that we collaborate to make the space come alive. We will spend the first hour or two preparing the site together, and we will help each other with small practical tasks along the way. No cleaning or cooking though, just fun stuff :)

We always strive to find a good balance of program and time to draw back or improvise. This year, still having a lot of program, we will leave a few more spaces open during the days.

Whether you are curious, have a creative and innovative mind, are a happy amateur or a professional, practicing artist, you are welcome!
